THEY KILLED LAMB! YOU BASTARDS!
Veronica Mars has a nasty habit of killing off my favorite side characters. They knocked off Kendall in the first episode, and that made me sad. Lamb’s death was a huge and unpleasant stab-in-the-gut shock, because I secretly ship Veronica/Lamb. No, it doesn’t make any sense to me, either. That’s why I keep my love for it secret. I’ll miss Lamb quite a bit, and can only hope no one kills Cliff or Vinnie.
Speaking of which: Cliff! Vinnie! In one ep! An episode that also included Mac, Wallace, and Parker.
The whole Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt was incredibly cute. I like the idea of Veronica and Logan being friends, and I do like Parker/Logan. It gives me fuzzies.
Mac/Bronson is cute. Unfortunately, Bronson seemed to have no personality whatsoever. I would have liked to see a little more of his character. Mac is falling for him enough to get over her issues and boink him, and I want to like him but he was completely blah this episode. There was a lot of stuff in this ep and I can see how it might have been tough to squeeze Bronson’s characterization in around the Coach Barry mystery, the Dean O’Dell mystery, and the Parker/Logan. Still, I wish they’d given Bronson a few more lines of dialogue. This is my only real complaint about an otherwise amazing ep.
The Coach Barry mystery:
I figured out the suicide thing right when Keith told Veronica about the double indemnity clause. I spent the rest of the show shrieking at the characters for not figuring it out faster.
I had a moment of self-doubt when the wife pulled out the gun, but I got over it.
Not terribly surprised by Veronica’s decision to help him get out of the country. Josh is a little bit batshit, but the family needs the money and turning himself in would be a waste of Daddy’s suicide.
The Dean O’Dell mystery:
Tim is so totally responsible for the bug. I want him to be useful this mystery arc, instead of just barking up the wrong tree and being pathetic.
